The Student Platform for Engineering Education Development (SPEED), in conjunction with the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), is proud to present the 3rd Global Student Forum on Engineering Education. This gathering of enthusiastic student leaders from around the globe will focus on intense discussion of presenting issues, formation of action plans for post-conference follow-up, and participation in prominent international meetings attended by leaders in industry, academia, and government.
Programme Highlights
3rd Global Student Forum on Engineering Education Sponsored by Autodesk, Dassault Systemes, and IBM.
Our flagship event is the Global Student Forum (GSF) — at its core a gathering of enthusiastic students keen on making a change in engineering education — but there are a number of events for students that precede and follow the forum itself. The week’s events include the following GSF highlights.
- Community Service Day: We will give back to the local host community by spending half a day restoring local wetlands.
- Teambuilding: We will get to know our international student colleagues with a fun half-day teambuilding event that will also allow us to explore the exciting conference location — Cape Town, South Africa.
- Guided discussions and formation of action plans: 1.5 days will be devoted to in-depth discussions with peers from around the world.
- Networking Evening: Wednesday evening sets apart time for students to mingle and form important connections with leaders in industry, academia, and government who will benefit from interaction with our student leaders.
- Social Events: To add to the fun and excitement of the week, social events are planned for the duration of the GSF that will allow participants time to kick back and enjoy the company of their new colleagues.
- SPEED meeting:As a blossoming international organization, SPEED welcomes enthusiastic new members and their ideas. We will have an official meeting for the group in order to conduct business and introduce new membership.

hi all, It is my immense pleasure to inform you that I, Yadav Prasad Bhattarai, Executive Member of Worldwide Nepalese Student’s Organization –Nepal (WNSO-Nepal) successfully participated in the Global Student Forum on Engineering Education (17-25 OCT 2008) held at University of Cape Town, South Africa and American Society of Engineering Education 7th Global colloquium on engineering education (ASEE GCEE) on the week of OCT 17-25, 2008 in Cape Town International convention centre, South Africa.GSFEE and GCEE was an opportunity for me to raise the issue of engineering education from my locality for open discussion to a global audience. And through my participation I got a concrete understanding of pressing issues and prevailing problems of engineering sector.
It is well known to all of us that engineering education is involved in all spheres of development in this modern society. Being a student graduating in Civil Engineering, I was always concerned about the prospects and constraints of engineering profession. The issue of sustainability as the main topic of discussion for the 3rd GSF on Engineering Education Seemed very much relevant in context of any developing country, where engineering community is growing with time.It also provided me an opportunity to explore my personal and professional potentialities. Exposure to a heterogeneous community of experts, students, and professionals enabled me to understand the issue of global concern from diverse perspective. My participation at GSFEE has also put me in contact with the global network of engineering community, policy makers and experts from academia.Thnak you.

Howdy,
I’m Looking to buy Entertainment Centers or Wall Units For a new apartment complex I’ve invested in.
Can you peoplegive me a good recommendation of where is the leading deal on these? I live in Newark and I heard that the major thing about these Entertainment Centers is the cost of shipping and installation.
Thanks
C.

This is a good step to save paper. And will save the rain forests in Indonesia. Moreover, this will reduce the burden on the back of elementary school students. Of course this will make the traditional printing companies and governments in the third world into a panic because of their unpreparedness of information technology. . .
