The city
The Focus Meeting will be held in Göteborg which is the second largest city in Sweden with a total of 900,000 inhabitants in the metropolitan area. The city is located on the beautiful west coast of Sweden where it was founded in 1621 to protect the mouth of the Göta Älv (Göta River)which at that time was the only part of Sweden that had a access to the Atlantic ocean.

The University
The Focus Meeting is organized by Chalmers Students for Sustainability (CSS) and the WSC-SD. CSS is a student organization based at Chalmers University of Technology which is one of Sweden’s most prestigious universities of technology. Chalmers was founded in 1829 by means from a donation by the director of the Swedish East India Company, William Chalmers.
Venues
During the pre-meeting and the focus meeting, several different venues will be used. Here you will find some information about them and where they are located.
Pre-meeting
The pre-meeting will be held at the Chalmers Student union sports cabin which is located in a beatiful country setting close to Göteborg. The sports cabin boasts one of the largest wood fired saunas in northern Europe and you might even want to try to take a bath in the nearby lake (even though it might be cold in October). The sports cabin is equipped with bunk-beds for 30 people. Information on what to bring for the accomodation will be updated later and you will also be informed of that upon an accepted application.
The Focus Meeting
The Focus Meeting will be held at one of Chalmers’ two campuses, campus Johanneberg. It is the oldest campus, founded in 1929, where most of the masters of science are taught. The largest of the two student union buildings are also located at this campus.
The workshops and seminars will take place in the department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, MC2. You will also eat breakfast in this building in the morning everyday during the focus meeting. Lunch will be srved in the Student Union restaurant located a couple of hundred meters away from the MC2 building.
