There are several ways of reaching Göteborg. The easiest and quickest way would be by flying to one of the two airports, Göteborg Landvetter or Göteborg City Airport. Both of them are located close to the city and the bus costs 11-15 € back and forth to the airport (link to the bus line).
If you are flying from far away and don’t have any direct flights to Göteborg, we advice you to fly to either Copenhagen (Copenhagen/Kastrup Airport) or to Stockholm (Stockholm Arlanda). From each of those airports you can take a 3½ hour train to Göteborg.
Domestic train travel (to and from the airports)
To book a train ticket, go to the train company SJ (link to the train company) where you can buy a ticket from each of the airports (type Arlanda for Stockholm and Köbenhavns Lufthavn/Kastrup for Copenhagen Airport). It is cheaper to travel from Copenhagen and you can get a round-trip ticket for as low as 20 € from Copenhagen, whereas a round-trip ticket from Stockholm Arlanda will cost at least 70 €. You are also adviced to buy your ticket as soon as possible since the price of the train tickets rises for each passing day.
International train travel
A somewhat slower way of getting to Göteborg would be by train (if you travel from within Europe). The easiest way of getting information on how to get to Göteborg by train is by talking to your local train operator and ask them about international train travel. CSS and the WSC-SD strongly advice you to take the train if you have the possibility since it is more environmentally friendly than flying.
Funding tickets
CSS and the WSC-SD will not be able to fund any tickets at this moment due to lack of sponsors. If we recieve more sponsoring at a later date we will inform you about this, but as of now you will have to pay your own tickets.
