Call for applications for the St Andrews Economic Forum 2010:
PURPOSE
The forum’s intention is to create dialogue between leading experts, academics, and the public on
the economic and political challenges and opportunities facing Africa, in particular sub- Saharan
Africa. Most importantly the topics will be addressed in light of globalization and the financial crisis.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The conference is primarily intended for students and for persons with a professional commitment to
development in Africa, but applications are also welcomed from the general public interested in
participating at the St Andrews Economic Forum 2010.
LOCATION
The St Andrews Economic Forum is set in several of the ancient buildings of the University of
St Andrews. Combining beautiful historical landmarks with modern facilities, our privileged venues
offer delegates and guest speakers a unique opportunity to gather in the stunning surroundings and
rich cultural environment of one of Europe’s oldest universities. Detailed information about the precise
venues will be confirmed closer to the conference dates.
THE FORUM
The forum will span over a period of three days. The doors will open at 3pm on Friday the 23rd for
registration and the opening ceremony will start at 5.30, including an introduction to the panels. The
panel debates will take place all Saturday and conclude on Sunday with a closing ceremony.
ACCOMMODATION & TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Students traveling from abroad will receive opportunity for affordable accommodation in St
Andrews. If you need assistance to set up any travel arrangements please do not hesitate to contact us

APPLICATION & REGISTRATION
We require that you register online as possible on our website www.saef.co.uk. Online registration
will open on the 1st of March 2010. (We retain the right to reject applications due to the limits of
space).
