The Executive Board is elected annually by WSC-SD Members and co-ordinate the activities of this international organisation.
Interim President: Nickson Otieno (Kenya)
Otieno is a sixth year Bachelor of Architecture student at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is part of the Students for Global Sustainability’s founding executive and the immediate former WSC-SD’s Ambassador for Africa.
He has developed a number of creative and innovative ideas and implemented countable community projects ranging from education and mentorship to primary and secondary students, environmental conservation through tree planting, renewable energy alternatives such as solar and biogas, provision of safe and clean drinking water as well as peace building and conflict transformation.
He has also co-founded Africa Creative Action (AfriCA), an organization that seeks to engage all forms of creativity in achieving sustainable development where he is currently working on provision of sustainable housing to the rural and peri-urban dwellers in Kenya by establishing entrepreneurial businesses operated within local communities.

Vice-President: Carl Justin Kamp (US/ Sweden)
Justin is currently a PhD student at the chemical reaction engineering department at Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden. The PhD thesis work is based on a project for the Volvo Corporation, where the goal is the reduction of particulate emission from diesel engines through increased physical and chemical understanding, simulation and design. Justin has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the California Polytechnic University, a master’s in Environmentally Sustainable Process Technology (Chemical engineering) from Chalmers and is working on a second master’s in Engineering Mathematics at Chalmers. Justin is currently on the advisory board of AGS-Chalmers, and is consulting for the high-energy physics group, LIGO, at the California Institute of Technology.

Interim-Director of Internal Relations: Mohammed Rizwan Shamim (Bangladesh)
Rizwan has been involved with a number of Sustainability driven student initiatives since the year 2007. He started his journey by being actively involved with Oikos while studying Economics at BRAC University, Dhaka Bangladesh. During this time, he helped organize and execute the Tree Plantation Program, the Eco Tourism Campaign, and a WTO Seminar among others. Rizwan has been with the WSC-SD as an Individual Member since 2008. He has taken part in the S3 (Zurich) and the AGS AM Student Project (Tokyo) and has been Ambassador-Asia with the WSC SD for 2009-2010. Currently Rizwan is doing an internship at HSBC bank in Bangladesh.

Director of Strategic Development: Ruth Moko (Kenya)
Ruth Moko graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Statistics) degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Before starting a Master’s degree, she is currently working as an advisor in Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Services, KPMG East Africa. Her experience spans through the banking, insurance, manufacturing and petroleum industries.. During her graduate years, she helped establish Students for Global Sustainability (SfGS) at her University. SfGS is one of the member student communities within the World Student Community for Sustainable Development (WSC-SD). Driven by a commitment of giving back to society, she joined the WSC-SD Executive Board in October 2009 to assist in the development of its long term strategy.
