OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) is pleased to announce that qualified undergraduate students are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship 2009/10. The OFID Scholarship will be awarded to support an undergraduate student from any developing country, to pursue higher education in a relevant field of development, in any recognized university/college in the world. Through its scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated, highly driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of advanced professional or graduate training. The winner of the OFID Award will receive a scholarship of up to US$100,000 The funds will be spread over a maximum of two years, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution, starting in the autumn of the academic year 2009/10.

Good day.I prey this email reaches you in a good faith.My name is Kindu Gashaw,32years of age,belong to one of the poorest country in the world.My country Ethiopia often ranks in bottom 10 of the UN’s human development index i.e 169(of 179).Though many progress is going on in the country, there is a challenge of frequent droughts and food shorteges.So let alone to afford higher educational expences,it is clear to realise how life is very hard in this country.
I was born from arural parents who had suffered with lack of education and I cam across most of the challenges by myself through out my education.Currently I have a diploma and a degree of English from Bahir dar University.I have been serving my country for about 12 years in differnt govrnment organization.

The most logical reason why Nigeria wouldn’t be part of the countries included is because Nigeria is part of OPEC and OFID offers it’s incentive for non opec members. Please read through the site before crying discrimination
