SUMMIT COMMITTEES
The summit committee has three distinct units working in collaboration –
- ·Advisory committee is comprised of leading, global sustainability experts focused on guiding the program, inviting key note speakers, engaging in strategic partnerships and fund raising activities.
- ·National committee, led by Corporation Grupo Tayrona, is responsible for the overall organization of the summit inclusive of facilitation between local and national groups engaged in sustainability initiatives.
- ·International committee, in joint efforts with the other two committees, would focus on summit marketing, international fund raising, dissemination of outcomes from summit and coordination of any follow up activities, reviewing and selecting papers and posters for presentation.

The 2010 Summit will be organized by CORPORACIÓN GRUPO TAYRONA, a non profit organization founded in Colombia in 1999. This dynamic organization is engaged in a multitude of local and global initiatives aimed at promoting active participation and involvement of students and youth from Colombia as well as Latin America on sustainable development. The organization also facilitates an annual meeting within Latin America for knowledge sharing on sustainability challenges.

WSC-SD
World Student Community for Sustainable Development – WSC-SD is an international network that connects undergraduate, master and PHD student, and has also progressive sustainability organizations in universities around the world to address issues pertaining to sustainability, and take action locally and internationally.
The WSC-SD sensitizes its members on existing and emerging sustainability trends and motivates them to take action at their Universities and larger communities. Our strong and diverse (multicultural and multidisciplinary) network of dedicated student groups and individuals, provide the opportunity for members and partner organizations to exchange information, experience, knowledge and ideas on matters relating to sustainability.

SUMMIT CHAIR
Adriana is from Bogotá- Colombia, and is currently is pursuing her Masters on Sustainable Development in the Latin-American Federation of Environment Sciences – FLACAM – at the National University of Lanus in Argentina. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the National Colombian University – UNAD – and was trained in the ETH Zurich – Switzerland for the Global Alliance for Sustainability. Adriana has been working on environment issues since she was 12 and has worked as an environmental manager for a Colombian NGO, as well as founded a youth movement for environment and sustainability that has mobilized youth from 19 countries. She has also been working on an international project with UNEP, UNESCO, UN Habitat and BID. In 2001 Adriana was member of the Youth Advisory Council of the United Nations Environment Program and was a delegate to international conferences such us the Johannesburg Summit Rio + 10, the Commission of Sustainable Development and regional negotiations. Adriana was a consultant for article 6 of the Framework Convention on Climate Change and has been instrumental in designing the national strategy for education, training and public awareness for the Colombian Government.
